Influenster Free Makeup!

My friend Eva told me about this cool site that she was on where you take surveys and they send you free products to try and review all over social media sites. The first one I got was a coupon for free frozen meal by Annie's homegrown organic. This time I qualified for a whole box of goodies.Mary Kay brand makeup.

I got the box last Friday and decided Saturday before I went to the movies with my friend to try it out. Complete with pics! I always like seeing pics or transformations.

I started out clean faced

I applied my own foundation and concealer first.

Then I applied the mary kay mineral cheek color in shy blush and bronzing powder. Followed with translucent loose powder. (I like the colors and it goes on easy. The brush they sent was a little rough for my sensitive skin.) My friend commented on how nice it looked and had a shimmer glow to it. I put on the nourishine plus lip gloss in mango tango. Not a fan of the color but loved the texture. Not sticky and not too glossy. Once it wears off there is still a little stain left. Which I need cause I have really pale lips. I will probably buy this in a more flattering color.

Next I put on the creme eye color in apricot twist and gel eyeliner in jet black. I Love these two products the most! They were so easy to apply they sent a cream eye brush and expandable liner brush. I had fun doing a retro look. I usually don't do cream eye shadow. In the past it tended to cake in the creases and wear off fast. This stuff dries like a powder. It doesn't go anywhere!

Last I tried the lash love mascara in I ♥ black. Not a huge fan. I've been a loyal loreal voluminous mascara girl for years! The brush did not compare it was thin and stiff. My lashes stuck together and looked like a spider.

Overall I was impressed with this makeup. I've thought of Mary Kay as being smelly and outdated but its really good quality. I could see myself buying the eye shadow n gloss in the future.

Crochet.

I have been crocheting for a few years now. I started out knitting and then discovered crocheting was much faster, less complex and gave me instant gratification! So, I put down my knitting needles and never looked back!

I am mostly self taught with the help of YouTube videos. Ahhh, gotta love the 21st century and access to all kinds of information. I usually pick up my crochet hooks in the fall/winter time. There's something cozy about cuddling up with some soft yarn and creating something with your hands while enjoying a steaming hot mug of coffee, hot chocolate, chai (insert your fav hot beverage)... you get the idea.

So, my friends that have had babies when "my iron was hot" have been recipients of handmade gifts! My sweet friend Eva's little lady has a crocheted lamb stuffed animal that she has loved since she was a baby! that makes my heart melt. I have made a few baby hats, a few scarves, but mostly just stuff for fun.

Then I recently discovered, via my facebook.. people go CRAZY for adorable crocheted kids hats, if they have ears or a face, even better! I posted a Ninja Turtle hat I made for my son on Instagram and got requests from other moms of TMNT fans to make and sell hats! What?! I was shocked so many people liked my hat! I accepted the challenge and have 5 orders for TMNT hats!

I had been feeling led to start a blog to post all my crafts I do. Just for fun and because I like to see what I have made over the years. Now, It seems that I could add to this blog idea crafts I've made but, ALSO crafts I can make and maybe sell? I have been talking to people over the past few weeks about Etsy and "the Cube" and other merchant type things. There is opportunity to make this into a small business endeavor. I am just cautious to take something I do to relax and for enjoyment and make it into something I have to churn out for profits. Maybe if I make one personal project for every two orders I will maintain a sense of fun and enjoyment.

I have been looking up all kinds of hat patterns I could make and sell. penguins, minions, ear warmer headbands, bow hats, monkeys, puppies and now with the holidays there are some fun santa and elf patterns out there! So, hope you enjoy my posts and pics! If you have any ideas or requests shoot me a line.
